1899, Paris. The journalists prepare for a peculiar sensation, as the wealthy Gladys Welles wishes to seduce the famous Gypsy violinist, Rigó Jancsi, as a result of a bet. To everybody's surprise, he is not interested in Gladys but in her elder sister. Although Georgina used to be widely gossiped about before, now she lives a peaceful married life. Instead of letting their love be fulfilled she returns to her husband. Yet her husband does not care for her and she returns to Jancsi. They spend wonderful weeks in Budapest, but run out of money. Returning to Paris, they are celebrated as the stars of the New Year's Eve party. Meanwhile, Georgina's husband understands that he is in love with his wife When he tells her this Georgina chooses him instead of Jancsi. (official distributor synopsis)
