A very gloomy environment of a remote Irish house somewhere in the middle of the moors creates a fantastic atmosphere of this film. Or at least this is exactly what is very close to me in stories. With Florence Pugh, whom I have been seeing more often lately... and I don't mind it at all. But the plot is very quiet, the course is very artistic, and only when you understand what is actually happening in the film, its end will come. I especially liked the end in comparison with the rather boring film.

We spend the whole film wondering why a child dying of hunger doesn’t want to eat. And there is no aspect of mystery. The subject is unexciting and quite banal, but it makes sense dramaturgically in the end, however slight it may be for the viewer. The Wonder is based on a novel that the filmmakers didn’t want to upgrade in the film adaptation. Florence Pugh is good as usual, but she has better opportunities elsewhere.
