Zatoichi meets a superior swordsman in episode four. Arriving in the village of Shimonita, Ichi learns that a local gang has placed a bounty on his head. A powerful hired ronin attacks Ichi and nearly claims his life. However, once a defenseless woman is slain by the assassin Ichi can no longer control his rage. A truly excellent installment. The color palette fits perfectly, but most importantly, the action scenes and the emotions intertwine incredibly smoothly and beautifully. By the end, you'll be holding your breath because the action is breathtaking - one against dozens - but you'll also have a lump in your throat when you realize that truth can be quite harsh sometimes.
