Unhuman

Clever concept, and I'd love to see it handled in a serious way. But the way Dunstan and Melton grasp it makes the film so terribly irritating in the first half that I almost turned it off. I regret not doing it, then at least I wouldn't have had to see – when it turns out what it's actually about – how the creators messed it up. (06/09/2022)

I'm not really sure what drives Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, creators of the fantastic The Collection and other films, creators who have their fingers in the Saw franchise, and creators who have a pretty decent filmmaking history, to make a zombie B-movie like this. A film completely devoid of originality, imagination, innovation and without an idea that could engage the viewer. This is true at least for the first hour, the next half hour is quite interesting, it manages to surprise and entertain and overall I don't have such a terrible taste after the end as I would have expected from a 20% film. Sure, it's rubbish, but it's watchable, and the only surprise for me is that I’m not giving the film a Boo! Rating as I thought I would before watching it. (06/04/2022)
