Properly atmospheric start of Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities with excellent camera work. Decently occult story about a guy (played excellent by Tim Blake Nelson) who has no respect for history. Just monetize everything and move on. However, it becomes fatal for him when he stumbles upon The Ancient One in a cot straight out of Lovecraftian tales. And I really like that. ()
Fans of Lovecraft will feel right at home. An amazing Tim Blake Nelson and a wonderfully written, charmingly old-fashioned story without a moment's hesitation. ()
A great idea and a compelling draw to the whole series, but it gets more and more predictable as the minutes go by and it kind of fizzles out into nothing in the rushed finale. ()
