English These days, we expect TV shows to have a wow factor. So when a new detective series pops up with an interesting actor like Alfred Molina, you assume there’s going to be a constantly unfolding plot over eight episodes. But this show takes a more old-school approach. Alfred Molina’s Armand Gamache is sent to the quaint town of Three Pines, nestled in the Canadian mountains. While there is an overarching storyline that becomes less interesting over time, the series primarily focuses on individual murders that begin in one episode and are solved in the next. The show shines with its stunning cinematography capturing beautiful landscapes and a fantastic soundtrack featuring great music that I often had to look up. Overall, it’s a relaxing watch that wasn’t a waste of time, and I’d happily keep watching. ()
