Humdrum homebody Annie (Awkwafina) loves only two things, her pug Mr. Linguini and her favorite game show, Can't Stop the Quiz. In fact, she’s never missed an episode, turning into a trivia savant over the years. But when her gambling addicted mother absconds to Macau, a vengeful bookie kidnaps Mr. Linguini, holding him hostage until the debts can be repaid. Reluctantly reuniting with her older sister Jenny (Sandra Oh), a capricious oddball stuck in a state of whimsy and arrested development, the duo plot a way to get Jenny on Can't Stop the Quiz to make the money back and save her precious pooch. Awkwafina and Oh have irresistible chemistry as the ultimate odd couple, bringing bickering sisters to new heights under the steady hand of Academy Award® winner director Jessica Yu who imparts this winning comedy with equal measures of humor and heart. Nice comedy with a good idea. This is something that cannot be denied to the Americans in general. It's probably not something that will blow your mind, but you will relax while watching it, just like you can only relax with a classic American comedy. Awkwafina and Sandra Oh are great in their roles and Will Ferrell as the quiz show host is classic. You just know that all the craziness comes from his head and you somehow find yourself smiling at him with joy the whole time. In the end, you realize that it's more than enough for a quiet evening at your home.
