First off, I have to say that I loved the way the mysteries were handled in this series. Drawing from traditional Japanese folklore and various literary works, the mysterious concept was compelling. The eerie atmosphere, the ambiguous main storyline, the well-executed ending, and some intriguing side mysteries all made this show an above-average experience for me. Unfortunately, the excessive fanservice felt out of place. From the very opening, there were gratuitous shots and unnecessary suggestive humor that disrupted the immersion. I don't mind fanservice when it fits the narrative, and I'm sure some friends would appreciate the attention to the protagonist's assets, but here it felt forced. It's a shame because I genuinely think this was an above-average and intriguing show. I would've loved to see a few more "mysterious disappearances," but overall, my experience didn't quite exceed a 6/10. ()
