Plots(1)
It is the year 1914 in Berlin. Ruth, the daughter of the Jewish owner of a small but very special private bank, wants to become a farmer. She wants to grow her own vegetables, eat her own tomatoes and to have her own place, full of peace, love and quiet. So she marries a handsome but bankrupt son of a noble family, and moves to the countryside. At first all is a disappointment to her, but with enthusiasm and strength, she starts rebuilding the house and refines the ordinary cherries that grow in large plantations into Morello cherries, which are the best in Germany. Finally she survives the Third Reich hidden on her own peace land. Her dream saves her life. (official distributor synopsis)
