To 14-year-old little leaguer Calvin Fuller, life is like one big strikeout when he lets his team down. Then an earthquake sends him through a magical time rift, and he finds himself in King Arthur's court. But all is not well with the realm. Why this film? Because of Kate Winslet! I wanted to see where the most talented actress of her generation got her start. More likely to be appreciated by undemanding viewers or young audiences, this film is an old familiar cliché in its delivery. The visual effects were already rather cheesy for their time, and the cast (except for Kate - the talent was already dormant in her) didn't help much either. Through and through, it was a bland film that I probably wouldn't have watched without Kate's involvement.
