Dankó Pista falls in love with Jáky Ilonka, the beautiful blonde young miss, therefore his former lover, Rózsi, the savage Gypsy girl swears at him. Ilonka escapes with Pista and they get married. They live in difficult conditions, but Pósa Lajos supports the talented young man. Pista would like to get his legendary violin back, which has fallen in the property of a Russian duke, therefore he starts for a Russian tour. Here he meets Rózsi again, who became a famous dancer in the meantime and now she puts a spell on him. Later Pista becomes ill and he returns to die in his homeland. In his last hours a package arrives from Rózsi, and he can play his last song with the regained violin. (official distributor synopsis)
