Dare Rudd (John Wayne), a penniless vagabond, heads to Wyoming in the hope that his cousin, Tom Fillmore, will help him out. But once he gets there, money is the furthest thing from Dare's mind - it's Tom's girlfriend, Judy, that catches his eye, and he quickly employs every ounce of charm he can muster to win her affections. After a long break, I saw a film with John Wayne again, this time a fairly old and short piece (not even an hour long). Right from the start, it's clear that it won't be anything grand, but rather a traditional western in both its positive and negative aspects. Beautiful exterior shots with poor sound, and lovely scenery without much plot. For a moment, it seems like the Duke will play the villain, but rest assured, you can relax again - nothing is as dark as it may seem. For the effort, it deserves 50%. ()
