I adore John Wayne, there's no denying that, and I just feel like he was at the peak of his career throughout his whole life. Here, at the end of his life and illustrious, lengthy career, he shows that action films of the 1970s were not unfamiliar to him. He fits in well here as an aging yet still tough hero. He remains sufficiently cool, even during the chase scenes. The film is nothing perfectly original in the genre, but it has a solid story, and the Duke brings his charm to it.
