English John Wayne creates an interesting character of a singing gunslinger with a bad reputation, but even this character cannot save this western, which is simply poorly directed as a film. During the dialogues, there is strange camera work, sometimes exacerbated by odd acting; the editing isn't good, and the film is only occasionally saved by a few faster-paced scenes with stunt work. Overall, it's more on the mediocre side. ()
