Wrongly accused of murder, John Brant (John Wayne) goes to the lam and joins an outlaw gang in order to hunt down the real killer in this action-packed western (only the second that a young, and still-unknown, John Wayne made as part of his tenure with Lone Star Productions). Matters aren't helped by the fact that he and the killer are both vying for the same woman too! Chock full of great horse-riding stunts, courtesy of co-star Yakima Canutt. English At first glance, it’s just another film with John Wayne from the 1930s, but you can see that there was an effort to create a story, which turned out quite well, although it's traditional even for its time. The creators really made an effort overall, which is reflected, for example, in the use of humor, which got me quite a bit, and I found myself laughing out loud several times. Some scenes were really good. ()
