Plots(1)
John Wayne is John Travers - a U.S. Marshal who is charged with the duty of tracking down a villainous chieftain known only as "The Shadow," who is responsible for committing several unsolved murders. Hoping to flush the villain out, Travers takes over as sheriff of the town where the mysterious murders have occurred. Along with his pal Yak (Yakima Canutt), John discovers a tunnel leading from the sheriff's office to a sinister cave, which turns out to be "The Shadow's" hideout. It doesn't take long for Travers to reveal the killer's true identity, but before he takes care of the vile villain, John must first save a damsel in distress (Verna Hillie).
