In this story of reclaimed justice, Wayne separates himself early from the herd as Steve Pickett, the only cowpuncher at the Diamond Bar Ranch who's not buffaloed by Utah Becker (Wheeler Oakman) and his band of rustlers who've been robbing Helena Rawlins (Shirley Grey). Her husband Jim, long a champion of the townsfolk of Stampede, Arizona, disappeared under mysterious circumstances five years earlier. After reports of his death, she resigned herself to a life of mourning. When Tim McCoy blows into town as Texas Grant, everyone agrees he's the spittin' image of the late Tim Rawlins - and soon he's wrangled into filling the dead rancher's boots. To keep her land and restore order to the town, Helena agrees to go along with the ruse. Tex teams up with loyal Pickett and a few good guys to run the outlaws out of town...finally, the big shootout between Tex and Utah produces some surprising results. (official distributor synopsis)
