Sunflower

I've known for a while that Rae-won Kim is a master actor and this role just confirmed it for me. Even though I was expecting a lot more action, I'm glad it was what it was. I wouldn't have thought revenge could be conceived in this way. There were a few poignant parts that left my eyes blinking really intensely. 4.5 stars. (04/28/2012)

Sunflower is a Korean gangster film about Tae-sik, a gangster who is released from prison and goes to live in a small restaurant with his mother and sister, in the city where the local boss lives, and he has his eye on their restaurant and will be causing them trouble all the time. The film is mostly a drama with a very cool plot. The protagonist sticks to his resolution from prison to never beat anyone up again, so the local gangsters will get away with everything and Tae Sik will get his ass kicked a lot of times!!! Beautiful, touching and decently action packed at the end. I recommend it to everyone! (01/08/2014)
