English The film certainly can't be accused of trying to confuse the viewer. It's at times absurd, at times quite twisted, somewhat stylized like Sucker Punch, but definitely not as straightforwardly readable. Yes, it's weird, no doubt about that, but I have to say I liked this intermittently "cool" slowed-down oddity. This is probably what it would look like if Americans loosely tried to adapt something originally from Japan. Original, weird, and not always consistent, but definitely worth at least one viewing. English That wasn't bad at all! I rate the first half very above average. The Scribbler has amazing visuals, a perfect dark setting of some kind of institution for mentally and socially unstable people, where every now and then someone jumps out of the building. The quality of the cast is also pleasing, with one actress appearing alongside another in at least two of the better known B-horror films. The sci-fi elements didn't sit too well with me and maybe the potential wasn't fully exploited as some of the people in the asylum could have been given more space, but never mind I wasn't bored. 65%.
