I would be quite interested to know if those who worked on this animated film actually read Miller's original work. The source material is action-packed and gritty, and features great characters and excellent superhero moments. However, this adaptation of "Ultimates" is simply cute, toothless, and defenseless. It's definitely better for those who don't know the comics. And yet, it's nothing fundamentally different from the standard animated mainstream.
