"It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent fritters!" cackle the brother-and-sister team behind the finest smoked meats in the county. They also run the friendly Motel Hello (the 'o' in the neon sign sometimes goes on the blink), and you can be sure that everything will be perfectly above board here as Vincent's brother Bruce is the local sheriff. Motel Hell or The Secret of Making Pork Delicacies. It hints more at being a comedy, but it is in fact much more so an unbelievably chatty B-movie that drags on for an hour and a half, only to end with an absolutely bombastic battle at the butcher's line with a guy with two chainsaws in his hands and a pig mask on his head. It should have had more obscure scenes, like the cultivation of the garden, where seedlings were replaced by living human bodies (particularly the harvest is really impressive), and then this motel would have been worth more than just a way to kill a 100 minutes. The film Motel Hell has some great scenes that you'll remember. The problem is that those scenes are part of a whole that isn't as great overall. I don't know what it is, but it's just missing something to make it work as a complex horror film. Perhaps less humor or more... but the heads are great, the pig's head as well. The individual ideas are simply good. ()
