English Roman Vojkůvka made a good film, but it does have a somewhat long runtime and, especially in the second half, turns into an exhibition of variously horrifying and disgusting scenes. I'm not saying they're bad; some of them are really good and have a very harsh impact on you, but as a whole, it feels rather fragmented, and you get the impression that you're watching an anthology film. There are then some rather lengthy dull moments that extend the runtime more than necessary. A film twenty minutes shorter wouldn't have been a bad idea. But that doesn't change the fact that Someone Down There Likes Me has great gore and is surprisingly bold at times. More proof that Czech horror is alive and well. ()

English I’m overrating it a little, of course, it’s very amateurish, but it gave me the impression that with a decent budget and cast (there are no actors here), the director would be able to make a very good horror film. For instance, the rape scene at around the 30th minute met all my requirements for a serious rape and revenge film and it’s the imaginary highlight of the movie. There are a couple of times when the film is unintentionally funny (the performances of the actors in the secondary roles), but this doesn’t change the fact that I watched Someone Down There Likes Me until the end (and it’s pretty long), which is far from guaranteed in an amateur flick.
