This is the story of five French women involved in the resistance movement during the Second World War. Their mission involves the exfiltration of a British secret agent who falls into the hands of the Germans just before the Normandy Landings. These five women, who are far from heroic, become heroines. (official distributor synopsis)

English A quintet of dirty women. A tribute to the brave ladies in the French resistance, who fell to their knees not for prayer. When it comes to freedom and life, everyone should use the best weapon they have. War veterans criticized Jean-Paul Salomé's film for suggesting that joining the resistance was not out of coercion but patriotism. I would fault him for not being too concerned with authenticity and for failing to come up with something new or better than what's been done countless times before. Well, Jour J remained undisclosed, and there was no need to sleep with Pétain. ()

English A slightly above average film that commendably handles the more or less neglected topic of women's resistance (I haven't seen Charlotte Gray yet). The problem is that the plot sometimes seems far-fetched, which shouldn't happen in a film based on a true story. However, within the war genre, this film is a nice change. ()
