Couple is facing divorce and fighting over custody of their beloved dog, Mr. Smith. Somewhere before the final divorce decree, however, Jerry decides he wants Lucy back, only to learn that she's marrying a country bumpkin (Ralph Bellamy). A beautiful film where once again it's abundantly clear how important the chemistry is between the actors, and of course, between the actors and their director. Leo McCarey demonstrates how he is a perfect director for comedy and how he can guide stars to truly entertain you. This is one of those comedies that keeps going and doesn't stop, keeping you entertained the whole time.
