The Mountain and the Viper (S04E08)

Another episode that is more dynamic, less chatty and with significant shifts especially at the Eyrie, where Sansa stops being a little girl and finally begins to understand the game. The tactical interlude with Greyjoy, the dramatic decision of Daenaris and the breathtaking duel between Oberyn and The Mountain, which reminded me of Hector vs Achilles, here spiced up with celebrities in the audience watching the action and Tyrion, whose life depended on which side would win. I found myself cheering for Oberyn like I haven't cheered for anyone in a long time. (05/20/2017)

A mixed bag for me. There were significant events, but the less important ones didn't lag behind, making the episode feel unbalanced. On the positive side, the final scene with the perfect duel was fantastic. Sansa Stark’s character finally showed some development (and I don’t mean just aging another year), and Arya and the Hound once again reached their destination. On the downside, I’m pretty indifferent to the Theon/Reek storyline, and most of the conversations in this episode felt pointless. (12/14/2017)
