Trained in clandestine combat from childhood, the Jinyiwei are an elite force of secret agents who devote their lives and lethal prowess to the service of the Emperor alone. Unbeknownst to the Jinyiwei's leader Qinglong (Donnie Yen), the Imperial Court has fallen under the control of a corrupt eunuch and whilst on a mission he is betrayed and barely escapes with his life.
