Most people here agree that Eden of the East Movie I: The King of Eden does not really work and is missing the original anime show's drive. I quite agree! On the one hand, it is good they are continuing the narrative with your favorite characters, and that you might find out how it all turns out (well, not really, I guess, until the next movie). However, at the same time, it just does not feel the same anymore. On the other hand, there is continuous action, so this first movie was easy to watch, even though the initial enthusiasm is slowly but surely gone. Therefore, even Jeoffrey is having a sobering time, suddenly aware that he simply cannot award more than 6/10 on reflection. ()
