Plots(1)

A simple low budget piece about the relationship between a young musician (making a living as a garbage collector) and the traumatized girl he finds 'on a trash heap.' Shot digitally, the film elaborates the atmosphere of their burgeoning emotional bond but focuses above all on creating an intimately authentic portrayal of the protagonists. English I remember that at the time the film was released, I saw the trailer and thought to myself how much I wanted to see a laid-back indie film from Marcel Bystroň. When I encountered Cabriolet five years later, it was a different story, because from an ambitious cinema debut, it turned into a ridiculously bad pile of crap. The wooden actors are mostly to blame, and the only thing that saves it is the (deservedly) acclaimed music by Ivan Král. The plot twist twenty minutes before the end is so contrived and unbelievable that all I could do was laugh at it. ()
