When you place the acting powerhouse that was Jean Gabin alongside the beauty like BB, you realize one fundamental thing: BB could never match Gabin's talent, and next to his natural acting, her performance seems extremely awkward. And yet, it suited the part. A film about a femme fatale, which is black and white in visual style but not noir; it's a human drama. And a good one. ()
