English A love letter that only an incurable cinephile could compose. Written in a similar style as Il mio viaggio in Italia. Long clips from films (particularly On the Waterfront and East of Eden). With commentary from Scorsese, a filmmaker who is knowledgeable enough to elevate personal impressions above objective facts, thus not omitting the controversial – “informant” – chapter of Kazan’s life. However, this touching cinematic giving of thanks is not intended to be a biographical portrait. ()
