Redux (2014) (S04E07)

English I'm not a fan of "hallucinatory" scenes in films, series, and games. However, this episode was an exception. The medication mix-up and its aftermath made sense, and the scenes were so well done that I actually enjoyed them. Particularly the gun the likes of which the world has never seen was a standout moment for me. ()

Halfway to a Donut (2014) (S04E08)

English Quite the experience. There was plenty of intrigue and manipulation during various negotiations, but the main focus was on the attempt to rescue Saul. Surprisingly, this drama had me laughing out loud at one point – when the bulletproof Volkswagen withstood machine-gun fire. It reminded me of an old joke: "Soviet media reported an incident on the Soviet-Chinese border where three Chinese tanks attacked a Soviet tractor. The tractor returned fire, destroyed all attackers, and then flew away." Plus, the action sequence with Saul's navigation reminded me of Pac-Man, making five stars an inevitable rating. ()

There's Something Else Going On (2014) (S04E09)

English An incredibly intense episode. The atmosphere and tension kept building, and I could sense that something big was about to happen. The devious terrorists and even more cunning filmmakers had me on edge, expertly maintaining suspense like they were seasoned pros at running an inquisitor's torture rack. I had a blast. ()

13 Hours in Islamabad (2014) (S04E10)

English Just like the previous episode, this one was packed with intense tension and a thick atmosphere. However, the last third took a turn into emotional territory, which almost made me lower my rating. 5*- ()

Krieg Nicht Lieb (2014) (S04E11)

English As a big fan of Peter Quinn, seeing him finally go rogue made the episode a must-watch for me. The non-stop scheming, strategizing, and manipulating by all parties involved kept me thoroughly entertained. I got a kick out of the Pakistani secret service’s approach to crowd control – when a mob starts forming, just unleash another one. Sure, it’s not a groundbreaking tactic and happens everywhere, but it added an amusing touch. Overall, this episode hit the mark and kept me engaged from start to finish. ()

Long Time Coming (2014) (S04E12)

English A very disappointing season finale. It felt like I was watching a completely different show, and not one I enjoyed. The plot dragged on endlessly, and after eleven episodes of intense anti-terrorism action, we ended up with a family drama mixed with a love story. I was honestly bored this time around. ()

Season 5 (2015) (S05)

English I’m giving this season five stars, but it was definitely weaker compared to the previous ones. The thing is that I like the series so much that it's hard for me to give a lower rating. Objectivity is out of the question for me in this case. While I have no problem criticizing other shows, I'm not going to mention the flaws here, although I did notice a few. Shame on me! ()

Separation Anxiety (2015) (S05E01)

English A noticeably slower start compared to the previous season. However, the episode clearly introduced the new dynamics and setting, as well as the main plot, so I'm looking forward to what's next. If the trend of Saul's beard getting shorter each season continues, he might end up clean-shaven in the next one. ()

The Tradition of Hospitality (2015) (S05E02)

English I was quite pleased with the plot. The episode had a solid atmosphere, maintained tension throughout, and even delivered some decent action. I especially enjoyed Quinn's storyline — Rupert Friend was like a Terminator, taking down his targets without so much as a flicker of emotion. ()

Super Powers (2015) (S05E03)

English When I found out about Carrie going off her meds, I even considered giving just three stars. However, it was this very twist that made me go for a full five. Instead of another stint in a psychiatric ward, Claire Danes absolutely lit up the screen, delivering probably the most entertaining moment of the series so far (sorry, bulletproof Volkswagen, you’ve been bumped to second place). ()

Why Is This Night Different? (2015) (S05E04)

English The episode was jam-packed with events — CIA agents, Russians, hackers, and Syrians all took turns in the spotlight. There was atmosphere, tension, and a solid dose of action, so I couldn’t be more satisfied. However, I can't shake the feeling that Saul might be better off retiring; he seems to be missing too many crucial details lately. ()

Better Call Saul (2015) (S05E05)

English Unlike the previous episodes, this one barely had any action scenes, yet I still found it surprisingly entertaining. What it lacked in action, it made up for with a hefty dose of intrigue, manipulation, and Peter Quinn's compelling presence. This season's storyline has really got me hooked, so I’m not nitpicking for flaws. ()

Parabiosis (2015) (S05E06)

English At first, I had some doubts, but as the plot progressed, the pace picked up nicely. The problems kept piling up, and the atmosphere was thick with paranoia. The creators did a great job maintaining tension throughout, with intrigue and manipulation driving the story forward. I get the feeling that Quinn would be deadly even while on dialysis. ()

Oriole (2015) (S05E07)

English As a fan of spy dramas, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Terrorism in this season takes a backseat to the intense rivalry among three secret services, each neck-deep in their own scheming. Intrigue, manipulation, and betrayal are the order of the day, while Quinn's mission in Syria remains on the sidelines. ()

All About Allison (2015) (S05E08)

English The episode doesn't push the story forward as much as it expands its depth. It serves as a crucial backstory that explains past events significantly impacting the current narrative. Viewers get to understand why Allison is the main antagonist this season and learn a valuable lesson: always travel with a trusted tour company. ()

The Litvinov Ruse (2015) (S05E09)

English This time, there were no flashbacks; the story moved forward, and the creators reminded me of an oversight in one of my previous reviews. I mentioned three intelligence agencies, but there are actually four, and the German one, which I overlooked, played a significant role in this episode. Quinn's botched mission ended literally in tears. ()

New Normal (2015) (S05E10)

English There was a total shift in priorities. The conflicts and rivalries within and between the intelligence agencies took a back seat as the threat of terrorism once again became the primary focus. I appreciate how the creators managed to make this transition so smoothly and seamlessly. Overall, a very solid episode. ()

Our Man in Damascus (2015) (S05E11)

English The episode sets the stage perfectly for the finale. The creators built an incredibly tense atmosphere and ramped up the suspense in a way that kept me hooked from start to finish. Despite a few flaws, I thoroughly enjoyed it. ()

A False Glimmer (2015) (S05E12)

English I previously described the last episode as a lead-up to the finale, but it turns out it was the actual finale, and episode twelve felt more like a bonus. I wasn’t too thrilled with it. The episode was mostly about wrapping things up, juggling emotions, and tying up loose ends all at once. It felt rushed, like they were just trying to wrap up the season without much regard for continuity. 4*- ()

Season 6 (2017) (S06)

English Season 6 was pretty disappointing. The quality of the episodes was unbalanced. Only about three or four episodes out of twelve felt like true Homeland for me, which is very little. The character that kept this season afloat for me was definitely Dar Adal who made up for everyone’s lack of scheming. Carrie was fighting for human rights, which is certainly very democratic and kind, but I watch the show for a completely different reason than love for the neighborhood Muslims. ()
