English It's evident that Frič tried in places to approach the film with a bit of American richness, which is also reflected in the significance of the musical component leaning toward the 1930s. However, this film noticeably lacks tension. There are scenes here reminiscent of Fritz Lang, but the whole affair is quite trivial. One could perhaps talk about Czech noir, but a slight touch of exaggeration would be necessary. Short and at times unnecessarily long, some of the dialogues are nonsensically convoluted. ()
