Plots(1)

Kaspar Hauser, a nineteenth century man who seemingly appeared from nowhere claiming to have had no previous contact with society, is re-imagined as an androgynous woman washing up on a Mediterranean island and starting a war between the Sheriff and the Pusher, both played by Vincent Gallo. A tale of faith, suspicion and flying saucers set to the thudding beats of techno behemoth Vitalic, Kaspar Hauser is the sort of astonishing experience modern cinema rarely manages, a Techno Western in a world of its own. English Finally, a proper dose of weirdness after a long break—and I stumbled upon it by accident. Vitalic, the music producer, shared a scene on his Facebook, and the track playing (especially "Poison Lips," which is an absolute banger) caught my attention. So, I had to track the film down. After watching it, I can say that the scene Vitalic shared is the best and most emotionally clear moment in the entire film. The rest? Not so straightforward. The actor playing Kaspar? His DJ moments were strangely amusing to watch. I'm honestly surprised Quentin Dupieux didn’t direct this; it would fit perfectly in his filmography. ()
