As World War II draws to a close, reports of an indestructible, ghostly-white Nazi Tiger tank spread amidst the Soviet ranks. After barely surviving a battle with the almost-mythical beast, Red Army Sergeant Ivan Naydenov (Aleksey Vertkov) becomes obsessed with its destruction and returns to the battlefield inside a special T-34, determined to find and defeat the White Tiger. If this was strictly a war film, I would have given it a ‘Boo!’, but since the Russian filmmakers took a slightly different route and made what could have been entitled "The Tank Whisperer", I let the tank tracks lead me to three stars. What made me give it such a high rating is the lack of melodrama in the film's ending and an interesting point that was far from misguided. So yes, I have a lot of reservations concerning this film, but I don't consider it a waste of my time. ()
