Just like the comic mini-story, the animated Iron Shoes is nothing but a sympathetic atmospheric short, which literally oozes Hellboy atmosphere. Rather than story or suspense, it's all about humor, and that's what we get. The fist-bell cut really made me laugh, and the ending did too. Three minutes was plenty. "I travel light."

A fine short film that stands out mainly due to its humor and light-heartedness. It's nothing more than a story about Hellboy taking down a monster. Honestly, it could have been even shorter and perhaps even funnier if it had ended right during the fall from the tower, but everyone has their own taste. It's good, but not great.
