English It's not as funny or as clever as I expected after seeing The Toy, but there are some very good and funny scenes. They just aren't spread out evenly throughout the film. Pierre Richard directed himself very well, and the film definitely won't bore you; it just might occasionally make you a bit uneasy. ()

English A classic, zany Pierre Richard comedy that takes shyness to new extremes, playing around with a theme he’s always nailed. The story is lighthearted and charming, with a delightful score by Vladimir Cosma that perfectly complements it. I watched it during a particularly stressful time, and somehow Pierre managed to lift my spirits completely. There’s just something special about these old French comedies. ()

English Pierre Richard is far from the peaks of fiery eroticism the whole time and during the treatment, he just trudges along at the foothills. But one day, the fire will ignite... Surprisingly, it was most enjoyable during the lofty monologues, possibly because the moments of situational comedy showed signs of cliché and sometimes even got quite boring (like washing dishes). The conclusion is fairly optimistic, but something tells me that Ferrari will be first at the finish line... ()

English The scenes with the Pétanque, the impersonation in the restaurant or the ending in the fireman's uniform and gas mask are really unparalleled. Funny as hell. And although it may not seem like it, Pierre Richard also gives a perfect acting performance. I love him in all his positions - in the initial super-shy ("Yes?" - "I love you!"), when only his inner voice is confident (and only maybe), then in the following one, when he tries to get rid of his problem with all his strength and especially with the help of his new friend, and in the final, irresistibly bold creation in the casino. It's not a pure five stars, but almost. ()
