When a young nurse begins work at an isolated psychiatric ward, she quickly becomes fascinated with Patrick, a seemingly comatose patient who is the subject of a mad scientist's cruel and unusual experiments. I haven't seen the original and I don't plan to see it yet, so I enjoyed the remake perfectly. Funny, atmospheric, slightly creepy and original from start to finish. The much criticized visual effects happened to be very decent considering the budget and certainly didn't irritate me, I also enjoyed the allusion to Final Destination. The frantic finale lasted nearly half an hour and I enjoyed every second of it. This could be a horror classic one day :) 75%

The clichés in the movie don't bother me that much, as it's a fairly well-executed horror work. However, there are just too many elements you feel like you've already seen before. There is not enough innovation. Mark Hartley took the remake perhaps too literally as if he didn't want to add anything that could spoil the impression that this is truly a remake of something older. It's good that we're returning to the older material, but perhaps it could be even better.
