The crocs are back... and they're bigger, badder and more brutal than ever. After the deadly predators' last vicious attack, the government prevented their extermination. Sealed away in a nature preserve, they've been growing to record size, awaiting their next chance to feast on human flesh. Now, when a high school swim team takes a wrong turn directly into the crocs hunting grounds... dinner is served. As the teens race to avoid the hungry reptiles, they become caught in a showdown between a rogue game warden (Yancy Butler, Witchblade) and a demented poacher (Robert Englund, A Nightmare on Elm Street). Lake Placid: The Final Chapter is one of those films that completely devastates me with how much it tries in some moments to appear as something more than what it truly is. It's B-movie absurdity, yet in some scenes, it tries to pass itself off as profound mainstream. Why do such nonsense films have to take themselves so seriously? If it were just nonsense, a ride on a missile, it would be more interesting and funnier, and it wouldn't annoy you. But Lake Placid: The Final Chapter just can’t do that. A bad ending to the series. I hope it really is the last one.
