In an 18th century European city besieged by the Turkish army, an old man appears (John Neville) who claims to be Baron Munchausen. No one believes him except 10-year-old Sally (Sarah Polley), who joins him on a quest to save the city from the Turks. First they must find the Baron's four closest friends, Albrecht (Winston Dennis), the strongest man on Earth, Berthold (Eric Idle), the fastest man alive, Adolphus (Charles McKeown), who has powerful sight and Gustavus (Jack Purvis), who can blow harder than a hurricane.
