Plots(1)

In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. (Warner Bros. US)

English A textbook example of poor film direction. Though the movie is visually captivating, the casting and dialogue are simply bad. It’s as if it was filmed by the second crew, which normally works only on the supporting technical scenes without any acting and doesn’t care the slightest bit about the dramaturgy of the story (the last Transformers suffered from the same failing). English If it were more ambitious, I'd be jumping for joy. I missed the US government, the meteorologists and all the people trying to solve this issue globally here, it unfortunately focuses on only a handful of characters, which bothered me. The effects are great, but the film also moves slowly and before I know it the film is over. 60% ()

English The dialogues are very stupid, and in some scenes, I had to hold back from laughing - like when Armitage was probably resuscitating his son with his own head. However, the film has good use of a handheld camera, which is effectively impactful. Moreover, it simply does what it's supposed to do - impress and entertain. Some scenes, despite being heavily digital, are truly magnificent and can send chills down your spine. The acting is weak, but unfortunately, that's expected from a disaster film like this. ()

English I am not a tornado expert and I’ve never even seen a tornado. Nevertheless, I cannot imagine that a monster such as the one that appeared in this movie could appear in America. On the other hand, I bow down before the creators, because they did a great job connecting handheld camera with a proper filmmaking. I could hardly believe how many great shots this movie had. At times where a low-budget movie would be shaky, in this movie the cameraman clearly got some robot helper who did the job for him, or they fed him more, because the camera is stable even during the biggest hurricane and offers a view only mother nature can create. I have to say, I was really surprised. I’ve always been fascinated by tornados and this movie is not any exception. Just the classic American moralizing at the end was a bit unnecessary. ()

English I didn't expect any miracles from In the Into the Storm, and in fact I didn't get any. This disaster film, shot largely with a handheld camera, and into which family drama finds its way, is perhaps most impressive in the field of technical workmanship. The story is simple and unremarkable, but it doesn't offend (I've grown accustomed to those formulaic family dramas in American films). In short, a film that is more suited to the cinema, but it won't stay in your head for long. ()
