I like home invasion movies, but too many of them have popped up in the last year for me to be in any way excited about the next one (even if this one is a “campus invasion”) that doesn’t try to do anything new. Technically speaking, Random is well made. The only thing that captivated me in any way was the colour palette, it gives the night scenes a pretty interesting atmosphere. Other than that, nothing. Filmmakers should realise that for a hide-and-seek or chase to be tense if it’s taking place in a big area, there are some basic time-space rules that have to be observed, like the villains shouldn’t appear improbably fast in an unlikely place, which is something that here happens all the time. I even had to convince myself to give it that third star. (08/10/2014)

So this is a flash out of the blue, an incredible ride!! Tailor-made for me. The film boasts a beautiful lead actress, insane pacing, it speeds along like a Porsche on the highway that no one can stop, perfect bad guys with low-key masks and a solid bad ass leader who commands respect. The main thing that got me going was the soundtrack! I dare say that I have never heard a better soundtrack in a horror movie, the gradual build-up, I got scared like 20 times during the movie!!! And that's not even a stupid ghost movie. Truly a powerhouse and the best drive horror film of the year. There's not even time for lapses in logic, because this movie doesn't let you breathe, let alone think about stupid things. This movie should be savored like tiramisu. I recommend only with headphones, otherwise it will have no effect! (08/10/2014)
