English Stories from the backwaters in a not very viewer-friendly package. An interesting and original indie movie (the comparison with Lucky McKee in some of the reviews here is not wrong). Jug Face will not make a big splash, but Kinkle shows quite some promise. ()

English Whether there is actually something beneath that surface is perhaps the biggest problem of the whole film. In reality, it seems more like a crude horror film that was shot slightly differently to give the impression of being deeper than it was originally intended. I quite like this ambivalence, and the fact that the creator didn't go so far as to make it just a jumble of strange, disconnected scenes. On the other hand, it's not a work where those ideas are easily found. Perhaps it’s because they might not even need to be there in the first place. ()
