English The plots are pretty repetitive, and Winnetou is pretty useless in the film, but I still enjoyed seeing him here. Old Surehand is also such a good straight shooter that I simply like his character and enjoy watching it. Again, it's quite comical, but it is easily forgotten among all the other films in the series. ()

English This time around as well, it's easy to understand why the viewers didn't like Stewart Granger. And that Pierre Brice didn't click with him as a scene partner the way he did with Lex Barker, I believe that too. This may also be the reason why Winnetou appears in the movie only halfway through. When I also reflect on the below-average supporting characters, the "anonymous" main villain, and the rather insignificant Old Surehand a few years after the first viewing, my rating is almost down to one filthy star. Because the Surehand of the book is a magnificent triumph by Karel May and that makes the movie that much more of a disgrace. ()
