English It's a very simple film, repeating motifs from previous ones, but the Petroleum Prince is such a simple villain, sneaky and despicable, that you simply can't help but accept this simple game of good versus evil and just enjoy it. Surehand is a likable character, and so is Winnetou. I simply enjoy this nostalgic reminiscing. ()

English After the success of Treasure of Silver Lake the Germans started to make May’s film adaptations like on a treadmill. In 1965 alone they released eight. The Oil Prince is one of them, a sloppy film put together on a rush, just like the rest (with bright exceptions). ()
