The concept of a large-scale "Sophie's Choice" was a brilliant idea for this episode, but the execution fell flat. I wish I wasn’t such a cynic because then those shots of innocent, confused children's eyes might have moved me more deeply, maybe even bringing a tear to my eye (though in the cold, it would be a hailstone).
