What’s hard to understand is the screenwriting clumsiness. Initially, it’s evident that Christopher Roosevelt had no clue how to make the opening part engaging. In his case, perhaps only breasts could have helped; instead, we're dragged through utterly empty chatter with characters who interest us about as much as America’s problems. Then it drags us from place to place, trying to convince us that it’s going to be absolutely amazing, which it clearly isn’t. After a brief moment of action, featuring even digital dog slobber, the ever-present boredom returns.
