Despite a significant portion of the episode taking place during a Christmas visit with his daughter in Las Vegas, I didn't mind at all. These detours give the characters more depth and make them feel well-rounded. I imagine Bosch had a real dilemma after that phone call from Waits – trying to decide if the guy has a phenomenal memory for numbers or just a serious issue with personal hygiene.
