English The technical aspect is considerably weaker than that of Favreau's rival fairytale version, but the more mature approach is welcome. Severed heads and emotions can be wrung out by the gallon. ()

English Maybe the new version of Mowgli came out too soon, but I'm still surprisingly satisfied. The Jungle Book is unbeatable, at least visually, the animals here didn't please my eye too much and the tiger is downright repulsive, but I liked the fact that this version is conceived differently and I find it much more faithful to the source material. Rohan Chand plays the main character impeccably and the whole thing is much darker to creepier, and a plus for the hyena, who wasn't in The Jungle Book. Suspenseful, brisk, entertaining. I enjoyed it. 75% ()

English I had some concerns, as most critics’ reviews were negative and seemed to drag the film down. However, I was pleasantly surprised in the end. The mature tone really won me over; those who have read Rudyard Kipling's original know that the book is almost horror-like in some passages, and it continues to amaze me how the story of Mowgli is often aimed at a younger audience. I trusted Andy Serkis, despite his limited directorial experience, because the film focuses on motion-capture performances (in which he undoubtedly ranks as a top master), so I knew he was the right choice. Bale, as Bagheera, was unbeatable; his voice truly warms the heart in many moments. Cumberbatch also shined as Shere Khan. Beyond that, I honestly don’t understand the criticism of the film's visuals. To me, given the budget, it’s a highly impressive spectacle that immediately captivated me. There are also some fantastic action sequences, and the ending is superb. For those still unsure about the film, watching behind-the-scenes footage will show you the love for the craft and the enthusiasm of the actors, which proves that the film has much to offer. I give it 83%. ()
