7 foot, 375lbs of pure killing machine. Starring Nathan Jones and Tara Reid, Charlie's Farm is a chilling new slasher reboot. After a weird family of inbred killers meet their fate at the hands of a local mob, only their son, a strange little boy named Charlie, survives. Three decades later, and a couple of guys take their girlfriends to what they believe is the deserted homestead of the killer clan. The hijinks soon turn to horror when it becomes apparent that Charlie still lives at the farm, and that he s no longer a little boy - in fact he is now a seven foot, three hundred and seventy five pound mountain of psychopathic muscle. English Chris Sun undoubtedly has a talent for gore, what he did in Daddy's Little Girl was unprecedented and took the top spot in torture movies in the history of horror. This time he focused on the slasher genre and once again he didn't do badly at all. The downside is that the film goes on insanely long, the first hour hurts at times, it could have at least been spiced up with boobs or more fun, but once Charlie enters the scene a solid rodeo begins. Charlie is probably going to be a new iconic horror character, you can't help but respect him, he's a real macho guy and the characters don't stand a chance against him. The deaths are properly gnarly and dirty (the scene where Charlie rips off a chunk of a woman's jaw will not only go down in history, but also has a nod for gore scene of the year). I also liked the proper atmosphere of the Australian outback, which will give you flashbacks to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Chris only 3* this time, you did better in your previous effort. Let's see how your new venture Boar turns out. 65% ()

English When I look at one of the posters of Charlie’s Farm, dominated by the murderous bulk of Charlie surrounded by the scalps of iconic slasher villains, like Freddy, Jason and Michael, I really feel like laughing right at the faces of the creators and say: “Piss off”. This new hixploitation slasher movie from Australia has nothing that would make it interesting. It doesn’t have any idea that would set it apart from a million other hixploitation slasher movies: beginning with the original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and ending with last year’s Wolf Creek 2. It has no tempo – you have to wait almost an hour for the action to begin – and has not style of its own that would make that one-hour wait something bearable. It has no likeable characters, it has no competent actors even. Based on her performance, I though Ms Reid was actually and old pornstar trying to break into new genres, but then I researched a little and found that the last film she was in was Sharknado – which perhaps is even worse than porn. The only thing the film has is a murderous giant that it’s so forgettable and bland that its creators have profiled it with his weight and size (on another poster). Pathetic. ()
