After years spent fighting pitch battles against hordes of bloodthirsty enemy warriors, a soldier must try and find his way back home. As he starts his journey he realizes that he will still have to fight for his life on the trip back, and the enemies he meets along the way may be far more dangerous than those he has just defeated. As he journeys through a dark, forgotten world he will have to battle evil witches and terrifying creatures that won't stop until they have slaughtered anyone trying to pass. The film almost seems like it wants to convey something deeper, but it ends up being just a rather dull variation of a medieval drama, which reminded me a bit of the movie Barbarian in terms of its slow pace and attempt to communicate more than the story itself tells. It completely lacks gore and moments that would at least somewhat jolt you.
